Carpet Cleaning Adelaide
Carpets take a beating that most people don't notice until they stop and look properly. Foot traffic packs grit down into the pile, spills dry into the backing where a surface wipe never reaches, and pet hair and dander build up in ways that plain vacuuming can't shift. Zig Zag Carpet Cleaning has been working on Adelaide carpets since 2012, and the approach is always the same: look at what's actually in front of us before deciding how to clean it.
How we clean
We start with a walk-through of the carpet so we can see the type of fibre, how worn it is, and where the problem areas are. From there we vacuum thoroughly, pre-treat any stains or heavily soiled patches, then move to hot water extraction, which pushes hot water and cleaning solution deep into the fibres and pulls it straight back out along with the dirt it's lifted. For carpets that need a faster turnaround or can't handle much moisture, we can also run a low-moisture or dry cleaning method instead. Most carpets are dry within four to eight hours depending on the weather, airflow in the room, and how thick the pile is.
Homes, rentals and offices
A lot of our carpet cleaning work in Adelaide is residential: lounge rooms, hallways, bedrooms, the usual spots that see the most traffic. We also do a fair amount of end-of-lease work, where the carpet needs to come up to a standard that satisfies a property manager, and we're upfront if a stain or wear mark isn't going to come out completely so nobody's surprised at the final inspection. On the commercial side we clean offices, waiting rooms and retail spaces around Adelaide, usually scheduled outside business hours so it doesn't get in the way of anyone's day.
Stains, odours and problem carpets
Pet accidents, wine, coffee and general grime each behave differently in carpet fibre, so we treat them differently rather than using one product for everything. Odours are often tied to what's sitting in the underlay rather than the carpet surface itself, which is why a carpet can look clean but still smell off after a normal clean. We'll tell you honestly if a stain looks permanent before we start, rather than promising a result we can't back up.
Frequently asked questions
How often should carpet be professionally cleaned?
Every six to twelve months for most homes, more often if you've got kids, pets, or high foot traffic through the main rooms. Regular cleaning also tends to extend the life of the carpet, since built-up grit is what wears fibres down fastest.
Will cleaning get rid of pet odours completely?
Often yes, if the smell is coming from the carpet fibre and surface backing. If it's soaked through to the underlay or subfloor, a standard clean won't fully resolve it, and we'll let you know during the inspection if that looks likely.
Do you provide a quote before starting?
Yes. We look at the carpet in person or talk through the details over the phone, then give you a clear price before any work begins, so there's no surprise on the invoice.
Is the carpet safe to walk on straight away?
We recommend keeping foot traffic to a minimum until it's dry, generally four to eight hours. Walking on damp carpet can push dirt back into the fibres before the clean has had a chance to set.
