Window Cleaning Adelaide
We clean windows at homes, rentals and shops across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and the Barossa. What a window clean covers
Glass is only part of it. We clean the frames and sills, and we clear the tracks on sliding windows and doors, where dirt and dead insects collect and stop them running smoothly. Flyscreens come off, get washed and go back on. We also clean sliding doors, glass balustrades and glass pool fences, which are easy to forget until the water spots show.
Inside, outside, or both
Cleaning the outside only is cheaper and works for a quick refresh, but inside and out gives the clearest result. A streak is hard to place from one side, so doing both sides means it gets found and fixed. Upper-storey windows depend on access. Tell us how many storeys the house has when you call, and we'll say straight away whether we can reach them safely.
How we clean windows
We look at the glass before we touch it. Tinted film, old scratched glass, leadlight and louvres each need a different approach, and so does a window that hasn't been cleaned in years. We wash first to lift grit off the surface, then squeegee, then wipe the edges, frames and sills dry so nothing drips back down and leaves a mark.
Paint splatter and dried plaster or silicone on new or renovated windows need care. Scraping them with a blade can scratch the glass, so we check the marks first and tell you what can safely come off, and what a glazier would need to deal with, before we start.
What Adelaide does to windows
Dust blows in through summer and settles on the glass, and near the coast, salt spray leaves a film that dulls the view within weeks. Under trees, sap, leaf litter and bird droppings add to it.
The mark people find hardest to shift is sprinkler overspray. Adelaide tap water is moderately hard, so when the spray dries on warm glass it leaves white mineral spots behind. Fresh spots usually come off with a proper clean. Spots that have baked on for years are much harder, and in the worst cases the glass is slightly etched and won't ever be perfectly clear again. We tell you which one you have before we start. If your sprinklers reach the windows, moving the heads or angling them away stops the problem coming back.

Window cleaning is a regular part of end-of-lease and pre-sale jobs, and we can do it in the same visit as carpet cleaning. We also clean shopfronts and office glass, usually outside trading hours so customers aren't walking past a bucket and ladder. After renovations, we clean builders' dust and residue, within the limits of what glass can safely take.

Do I need to be home?
Not for the outside, as long as we can get to every window. For inside windows, someone needs to let us in. Move anything off the sills before we arrive.
